Endole
Endole is a UK company information platform with company and director profiles, credit reports and limits, CCJ, Gazette and charge history, monitoring and an API. A single-user plan is £39 a month, or £25 a month billed annually, with credit reports, monitoring and API access included and a 7-day money-back guarantee. Extra users cost more, and exports are capped at 1,000 rows a month per user.
It is good value if you need credit scores and alerts for a modest number of companies. You may want an alternative if you only need occasional checks, if you need accounts data at volume, or if you want an AI assistant to read the data.
Companies House
Companies House is the free official register and the source every other tool here uses. The find and update company information service shows status, officers, persons with significant control, charges and every filing, and its "follow" feature emails you when a company files something.
What it does not do: there are no credit scores, and accounts are documents to read rather than figures to compare across years. For many checks that is enough; our guide on how to check a UK company shows what to look at.
Best for: one-off checks, and anyone who can read a balance sheet.
Company Check
Company Check offers free basic company data and accounts, with paid plans for risk scores, credit limits, a monitoring dashboard and alerts. Business Monthly is £35 a month and Business Annual £350 a year; a single company credit report is £20 plus VAT. We found no public API product on its site.
Best for: the closest swap for Endole's web app at a similar price, if you do not need an API.
Creditsafe
Creditsafe is a credit reference agency with full financials, credit scores and limits, international reports, monitoring and a company data API. It offers a free trial, a free company credit report with a business email and a free API key for development, but it does not publish prices: you get a quote from sales.
Best for: credit control teams with regular volume and a budget for an annual contract.
Red Flag Alert
Red Flag Alert sells growth and insolvency risk scores, around 90 signals per entity with twice-daily updates, and packages for onboarding, compliance and portfolio monitoring. All packages are priced on request, and API access is included in selected packages.
Best for: insolvency practitioners, lenders and sales teams who want risk signals across a whole market.
OpenCorporates
OpenCorporates describes itself as the largest open database of companies in the world. The website is free to search; API plans start at £2,250 a year for 500 calls a month, and open data projects and public-benefit users can apply for free access. It focuses on legal-entity data and lists no parsed accounts figures or credit scores.
Best for: cross-border research, corporate networks and investigations.
UK Company Data
UK Company Data, which we run, covers the full Companies House register and balance sheet figures from about 37 million iXBRL accounts filed from 2008 to 2026. You can search for free on the company search page, get a one-off financial history pack for a company for £9 (Excel or CSV within 24 hours), or use the API and MCP server: free for 50 requests a month, £39 a month for 5,000 requests and a 50-company watchlist.
The watchlist raises alerts for status changes, overdue accounts, new accounts and charges, negative net assets and sharp falls in cash. We show risk bands derived from filed figures, not credit scores or limits, and we do not cover CCJs or officers yet. Companies that file only PDF accounts, including many large groups, have no figures.
The same data powers our studies. On 1 October 2026, 93,785 active companies were past their accounts due date, and companies filing full accounts were overdue more often (8.4%) than micro-entities (1.5%) (overdue accounts statistics).
Best for: multi-year balance sheets as data, screening companies by financial signals, and AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT.

FAQ
Is there a free alternative to Endole?
Yes, for basic checks. Companies House is free and shows status, officers, owners, charges and every set of accounts filed. Company Check has a free tier with basic data and accounts. What you do not get free is a credit score or limit; for that you need a paid plan from Endole, Company Check, Creditsafe or a similar provider.
Is Company Check cheaper than Endole?
At list price they are close. Company Check's Business plan is £35 a month or £350 a year, and Endole's single-user plan is £39 a month or £25 a month billed annually, so Endole is cheaper if you pay yearly. Endole includes API access; Company Check does not advertise one. Prices checked 17 October 2026.
What happened to DueDil?
DueDil became FullCircl, and FullCircl was acquired by nCino. Its website now redirects to nCino Identity Solutions, which sells onboarding and know-your-customer tools to banks and lenders, with pricing only after a demo. Former DueDil users looking for a self-serve research tool usually move to Endole, Company Check or Creditsafe.
Where can I see several years of a company's accounts?
Companies House shows every set of accounts filed, as documents you open one by one. Endole and Company Check chart several years of figures. UK Company Data returns balance sheet figures from every machine-readable filing since 2008, by API, through an AI assistant, or as a £9 Excel or CSV pack for one company.
